I did it! 52,193 words in 29 days. And when I read back through them I know they need a lot of work. But at least they are written.
Winning feels good.
Writing every day felt good.
For the first time in a very long time, I prioritized my writing and doing it every day was – not surprising – a great way to get to know my characters much better and help the story flow.
There is much editing needed and I think this book will need at least 30-35,000 more words before it is done but I am so happy to have these words out of my head and ‘in the book’.
Now that November has come to a close I plan to go back and focus on sending out the queries for my first novel. There are three from SiWC that I can’t wait to send.
Time to get reacquainted with Abigail and the rest of the characters in After the Break and put Can’t Take it Back on the backburner for now.
You know…just another writer…juggling two books. I love that I can say that.
Following this advice for real the last few days. Hit 40,000 words for #nanowrimo17 and while I know many of them will need to be fixed in the edit stage; they are still a solid foundation. A foundation for what I’m starting to think will be a fabulous final product. #amwriting pic.twitter.com/W6WmjwsuRw
